• Generate environmental and cultural awareness
• Create positive experiences for both visitors and hosts
• Produce direct financial benefits for conservation
• Find ways to realise financial benefits for local people and private industry
• Be sensitive to host countries’ political, environmental, and social climates
• Construct low-impact facilities
• Recognise the rights and values of the Indigenous People and work in partnership with them
